Hey everyone, I'm new here and I hope maybe this will help me figure some things out about my new puppy Elvis. He's a 12 week old border collie German shepherd cross.

First off, he wakes me up numerous times a night to go outside, and then he wakes up at 7 am, and does not go back to sleep, regardless of whether or not he's in his crate. Is there anything I can do about this?

Secondly, I FINALLY got him to learn how to walk on a leash, until a few days ago he'd plant his bum on the ground and not move. Now that I've got him walking, I need to know how to get him to actually do his business, he's been going in the backyard and I think he's become to used to that. It's to the point of where we'll go on a half an hour walk, he'll do nothing, then as soon as I take him home he does his thing in the backyard.

I've only had full grown dogs up until now and I'm completely clueless when it comes to puppies, HELP!!
